Condition: Constipation •  Cold Type
Treatment: Reinforce Kidney Yang, warm up the intestines and promote bowel movements
Description: Dry stool difficult to discharge or even with prolapse of rectum in severe cases, occasional pain in the abdomen, pallid complexion, cold limbs desiring for warmth, copious clear urine, pale tongue with white coating, deep and slow pulse.
Comment: Moxa.

Point Selection:
BL23 • Shen Shu • On the lower back, 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the second lumbar vertebra (L2).
CautionAvoid the Kidneys.
Kidney Shu. Back Shu of the Kidney that connects with Front Mu GB25.
Explanation: Warm Kidney Yang.

BL26 • Guan Yuan Shu • On the lower back, 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the fifth lumbar vertebra (L5).
Origin Pass Shu. Back Shu Point for Energy and Blood that connects with CV4.
Explanation: Warm Kidney Yang.

CV5 • Shi Men • On the lower abdomen, on the anterior midline, 2 cun inferior to the umbilicus.
Stone Gate. Front Mu Point of the Triple Energizer that connects with Back Shu BL22.
Explanation: Warm and tonify Kidney Yang.

CV8 • Shen Que • At the umbilicus.
Spirit Gate. Needling is Contraindicated. Moxa is applicable
Explanation: Warm Kidney Yang.

ST25 • Tian Shu • On the abdomen, 2 cun lateral to the umbilicus.
Contraindication: Do Not Needle If Pregnancy is known or suspected
Celestial Pivot. Front Mu Point of the Large Intestine that connects with Back Shu BL25.
